Foods containing zinc, like meat, shellfish, legumes, seeds and eggs, are also thought to reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration, an eye condition that can lead to vision loss. Because such a wide range of foods contain antioxidants and zinc, it’s fairly easy to add your favourites to your diet. Try snacking on walnuts for a healthier treat, adding blueberries to your morning porridge or upping your daily intake of legumes like lentils and chickpeas.
