How to Clean Your Dishwasher with Baking Soda and Vinegar Natural Health Remedies
In this video I will show you How to Clean Your Dishwasher with Baking Soda and Vinegar It may seem ironic that a kitchen appliance that cleans items daily would itself need cleaning. However, food scraps, grease, and soap scum build up inside your dishwasher with every cycle. Eventually, they will reach levels that prevent the dishwasher from doing its job properly. Regularly cleaning your dishwasher will help keep it in good working order, while also ensuring your dishes come out sparkly clean every time you put on a load. Believe it or not, cleaning a dishwasher is an easy task that doesn't require any harsh chemicals. All you need is one cup of vinegar and another of baking soda. These two ingredients will do most of the hard work for you. The Equipment and materials you will need to return your dishwasher to a state of pristine cleanliness include: 1 cup of white vinegar 1 cup of baking soda Rubber gloves The first thing to do is Access the Dishwasher Drain Remove the bottom rack to access the drain. The drainage area is where you will notice the greatest build-up of gunk and grease, so you will want to wear your rubber gloves to clean it out. Continued use of your dishwasher with a partially blocked drain could eventually damage the appliance. Blocked drains are also the most likely source of disgusting smells. The second thing to do is to Run a Cycle with a Cup of Vinegar Place a dishwasher safe container filled with one cup of vinegar on the upper rack and then run a full cycle on an otherwise empty dishwasher. Vinegar has many talents around the home, with one being a natural deodorizer, and another the ability to break through grease and grime. If any grease or soap scum is lining the walls of your dishwasher, you can rely on the vinegar to cut through and dissolve it. Removing it now will stop it from making its way down to clog up the drain. Vinegar's ability to neutralize odors is another bonus for creating a sparkly clean dishwasher, which also doesn't smell. Once you have run one full cycle, you should be opening the door to a clean and fresh interior. Of course, you want to be thorough, so there's still one more step to go. The third step is Using Baking Soda to Finish the Job Vinegar will do most of the dirty work, but baking soda will wipe out any lingering traces of odors. Sprinkle your cup full of baking soda over the bottom of the dishwasher, close the lid, and run a short cycle with hot water. Stubborn odors that resisted the vinegar treatment should be wiped out by the baking soda. The short wash cycle will also take advantage of baking soda's slightly abrasive nature by giving the walls a gentle scrub. Any lingering traces of grease and soap scum will be washed away. Here are a couple of other tips to help your dishwasher work at its best - Only run your dishwasher when it's full, but try not too overpack it, or lay large dishes over the tops of plates and bowls. The soap suds will be able to do their best work if they can move in and around each dish. Thoroughly rinsing your dishes before placing them in the dishwasher will hinder its performance rather than improve it. Dishwasher detergent is designed to work on food and grease residue. If no grime is present on the dishes, there will be excessive levels of soap suds and foam, which will reduce the dishwasher's efficiency. Your feet: aside from when you put your shoes on every morning, you might not think much of them at all. Actually, though, feet are far more important than we give them credit for. They help us to get around with very little complaining, and they adapt to different terrain so that we can easily walk, run or stand in every location. Feet aren’t only good for walking. They help your whole body to regulate optimum temperature, and reflexology professionals believe that they can improve functioning of the organs by treating the feet alone. Most importantly of all, when problems occur, your feet could be trying to tell you more than you might think. Several of the most common foot problems can often reveal signs of a more serious health problem that’s worth checking out. In this video I will show you what foot problems reveal about your health. No 1 Cold feet If you’re always complaining about cold feet then you might be suffering with more than just a chronic chill. Cold feet can be a sign of high blood pressure or heart disease. Studies have also linked smoking with cold feet, and the nerve damage caused by diabetes may lead to a lack of blood flow to feet and ankles. No 2 Swelling of feet It’s pretty normal to experience swollen feet every now and then. People commonly experience symptoms when they’ve been standing for long periods of time, exercised heavily, or spent time on an aeroplane. The problem, however, is when foot swelling does not reduce after several hours, or is a permanent occurrence. Swollen feet in the long run might be a sign of poor circulation, which is often a sign of medical conditions like kidney disorders, underactive thyroids or problems with the lymphatic system. No 3 Foot pain If you’re finding yourself ending the day with aching feet, you might be suffering from more than just soreness from a long day of standing up. Recurring, persistent pain in a certain part of your foot or ankle might be a sign that you’ve got a stress fracture, or one (or several) small breaks in the bone. Stress fractures are more easily caused than people think. Intense, high-impact exercise like running, circuit training and team sports can cause stress fractures, as can weakened bones due to osteoporosis. No4 Clubbed toes Clubbed toes refers to when the shape of the toes – and sometimes, the nails – changes noticeably. If you’re showing symptoms of clubbed toes, you might notice that your nails have rounded out at their tips, and are pointing more downwards, towards the floor. While clubbed toes may not be a sign of anything series, they could also be linked to an underlying cause, such as lung, heart and liver disease, as well as digestive issues and infections. No5 Dark spots on the feet If you’re thinking, who would get skin cancer on their feet? You’d be right to be cautious– skin cancer is usually associated with sun-worshippers who spend hours lying flat-out on a deckchair – but the truth is, it can affect anyone, and any part of the body. It’s always worth checking your feet for darkened moles that are irregular in shape, itchy, or bleeding, especially if they appear randomly and suddenly. Melanoma beneath the nail may show up as a dark spot that is less visible than a mole. No6 Dragging your feet We’ve all dragged our feet from time to time, whether from tiredness, silliness, or generally for no reason at all. If dragging your feet is something you notice you do often, though, it may actually be a sign that something isn’t right with your health. You might not even be aware that your feet have slightly lost sensation, which is usually caused by nerve damage linked to diabetes. This nerve damage may also be related to infection or vitamin deficiency, so get it checked out by a doctor for an accurate diagnosis. No7 Painful sores that don’t heal Experiencing any sort of injury that draws blood is hardly pleasant, but what’s even worse is when that injury won’t heal – seemingly ever. If you’ve got a sore that keeps re-opening without aggravation, you might be in danger of having diabetes. We know already that diabetes can impair sensation in the feet, and it can also prevent wounds from healing at a normal rate, which can lead to further issues like infection. Diabetes aside, a wound that doesn’t heal may also be linked to peripheral artery disease, which causes poor circulation to the hands and feet. No8 Heel pain Repeated heel pain might not be something worth ignoring – it could be a sign that you have a deeper issue that needs fixing. Plantar fasciitis is a common inflammation that’s caused by a number of factors, including arthritis, ill-fitting shoes, tendonitis, high-impact exercise and anything else that may put unnecessary pressure on the heel. If you’re struggling to put your full weight on your feet without heel pain, especially in the mornings, it may be a sign you’re experiencing plantar fasciitis.

It is a fact our ancestors used to eat very differently from us. Bread, for example, a very common food today, was made by hand in the old days. But now, many families find it more convenient to buy bread at the supermarket. What most people don't know, however, is that these foods are full of preservatives. Do you know what preservatives are, and what types of it there are? Today we will talk about the food preservatives that you should avoid. Food preservatives are chemical substances that can be either natural or synthetics, and, are added to a product, in this case a food to extend its shelf life, protecting it from bacteria, fungi, yeast, and other kinds of organisms or chemical reactions that may turn the food improper for consumption. The use of food preservatives is common, and that's why we don't pay much attention to it. But, if you get into the habit of reading labels, you will notice it! Even though they are, now, something common, there are some substances found in food preservatives that are harmful to our health, and can cause allergies, gastric issues, and even cancer. Some studies have concluded that the artificial preservatives used in many processed foods possibly increase the risk of inflammatory diseases, metabolic disturbances and obesity. The same preservatives that affect microorganisms can also affect human health. : How to Clean a Washing Machine with Soda Crystals Soda crystals have a surprising amount of uses around your home, including one all-important area of the home that needs to be cleaned in order to stay effective: your washing machine. Soda crystals are one of the simplest yet most effective ways to truly clean your washing machine. The following is a step by step guide that will help you learn how to clean your washing machine with soda crystals both on a regular basis as well as a monthly “hard clean” for those tough spots. What You’ll Need You will need only a few simple things in order to clean your washing machine using soda crystals. For regular cleaning with soda crystals, you will need: • Your regular detergent (liquid or powder) • Soda crystals • Measuring cup For a hard monthly cleaning with soda crystals, you will need: • Soda crystals • Measuring cup • White vinegar Regular Cleaning With Soda Crystals Using a small amount of soda crystals with your regular washing can help keep dirt, grime and odor build-up at bay. It can also help reduce the chances of lime scale build-up. Step One: Prepare a standard load Prepare a standard load of laundry with the soft water dosage of your regular detergent. Prepare the load as you normally would—meaning put your detergent in its usual place, whether that’s in the drum or the washer drawer. Step Two: Add Soda Crystals Now it’s time to add soda crystals. Use your measuring cup to measure out 25 grams to 75 grams of soda crystals. Use the smallest amount if you have soft water and the largest amount if you have hard water. Step Three: Run your washer Simply run your washer as you normally would. And that’s it! Monthly Cleaning with Soda Crystals In addition to regular cleaning that will help keep dirt at bay, you can do a monthly cleaning with soda crystals in order to get the hardest gunk and smells out of your washer. For this method, you won’t be running your laundry as normal, so keep that in mind. Step One: Add soda crystals to your washer Add 500 grams to 750 grams of soda crystals directly into your washer drum. You should use the smaller amount for soft water and the higher amount if you have hard water. Step Two: Run a hot water cycle Now, run a washing cycle using the hot water temperature on your washer. Step Three: Run again if necessary Once this cycle has run its course, look inside the washer drum. Is it clean and empty? Or do you see black or other gunk-y bits? If you do, then you need to run another cycle with another round of soda crystals in order to clear everything out. Step Four: Rinse with white vinegar After you're done, use white vinegar inside the detergent drawer as well as on the washer door seals. This will eliminate fungus, bacteria and other build-up there. And that’s it! With soda crystals, your washer will be cleaner than ever before.
