How To Lower Blood Pressure Quickly & Naturally Natural Health Remedies
In this video I’m going to show you What is the best way to naturally lower blood pressure quickly? Did you know that high blood pressure is known as the “silent killer”? This is because despite the fact that it is symptomless, it drastically increases your risk for heart disease and stroke, which are two of the leading causes of death in North America. According to statistics, approximately 1 in 3 North Americans suffer from high blood pressure at any given time, and most don’t even realize it (hence the term “silent killer”). But what exactly does it mean to have high blood pressure, and is there anything you can do to naturally lower it quickly? Your blood pressure is determined by two things: • The amount of blood your heart pumps • The amount of resistance to blood flow within your arteries If you have narrow arteries and your heart is pumping a lot of blood, then you end up with high blood pressure, also referred to as “hypertension”. When this happens, the force of the blood against the walls of your artery, over the long term, can cause numerous health concerns, including heart disease and stroke. How do you know if you have high blood pressure? When measuring your blood pressure, there are two different numbers to look at: • Your systolic blood pressure o This is the amount of pressure in your blood vessels when your heart beats and is represented by the top number on your blood pressure measurement • Your Diastolic blood pressure o This measures how much pressure is in your blood vessels when your heart is at rest (or in between beats). It is represented by the bottom number on your blood pressure measurement. A normal blood pressure is 120 over 80 or lower. Any measurement that is 130 over 80 or higher is now considered Stage 1 hypertension. So How can I naturally lower my blood pressure quickly? If you have taken your blood pressure and it is high, there are things that you can do to lower it – without taking medications. With that being said, you don’t necessarily want to lower your blood pressure too quickly. Why? Because your heart and blood vessels are responsible for carrying blood to each and every part of your body, including the most important organs like your brain and lungs. If your blood pressure drops too quickly, these important organs can stop getting the continuous blood and oxygen flow required to keep them functioning properly. The result can be stroke, or even permanent brain damage. In return, you wouldn’t even want to try to lower your blood pressure in the drop of a dime. You can, however, take measures to lower your blood pressure naturally over time. Here’s how: • Exercise o Exercise is by far the most effective way to lower your blood pressure. Aim to be active for at least 30 minutes a day – even if it’s just a quick walk on your lunch break. • Reduce your sodium intake o Sodium, or salt, is one of the main culprits of high blood pressure. Aim to keep your daily sodium levels to less than 2 grams a day. If your blood pressure is really high, less than 1.5 grams is ideal. • Avoid alcohol. o One or two alcoholic beverages a day is unlikely to cause any harm, but anything more than that can lead to high blood pressure. Not only that, but alcohol can lead to weight gain, which can further increase blood pressure rates. • Reduce your stress levels o Stressful situations can cause your blood pressure to rise quickly. Try to avoid stressful situations as much as you can, and engage in activities that calm you regularly. Walking, coloring, taking a warm bath, and listening to relaxing music can all be beneficial in reducing stress. Many people also like to engage in acts of meditation, or practice mindfulness techniques to help them stay calm throughout the day. • Limit your caffeine intake o Caffeine has also been associated with higher blood pressure, so try to limit your caffeine intake to one coffee a day. • Quit smoking o Smoking is horrible for your overall health, but in terms of high blood pressure, it can cause an immediate and temporary rise. Over time, smoking can damage your blood vessel walls, which can cause your arteries to narrow, which can lead to higher blood pressure. This is not only true for smokers, but also for those inhaling second hand smoke! In conclusion, while you don’t want to lower your blood pressure immediately during high readings, there are measures you can immediately take to lower your blood pressure over time. And the best part? All of the methods used to naturally lower your blood pressure are also beneficial to your overall health – it’s like a two for one deal!
